13 things to watch at Halloween

Here are 13 of my favourite things to watch at Halloween. Enjoy!

House of 1000 corpses
Violent, dark, creepy and disturbing. What the hell am I thinking? Even the thought sends shivers through me. 

The Shining
Oh yes, this creepy haunted house tale is still a good one. I'd love to see a remake... But they'd have to do an outstanding job! 

Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors
My first introduction to Freddy Krueger. There are some outstanding scenes in this movie. 

Blood Drive
This is crazy grindhouse stuff. Fast paced series full of cars, sex, violence and lots and lots and lots of blood. Love it. 

Michael Jackson Thriller
I see this as a short film, the effects are still impressive and I felt conflicted when it was on YouTube and my young son saw it... So it must be good for Halloween! 

Antichrist
I only have a few words for this movie because it made me feel very weird when it ended, in fact I almost went insane... Twisted, mental, clever, arty with abit of porn (I shudder when I say that, watch it to find out why). 

IT
The 2017 movie is thoroughly enjoyable. If you like Stranger Things (bonus suggestion) then this will appeal. Bill Skarsgard plays IT so well, I believe Satan himself brought him to this world as a gift to us all. 

The Cabin in the Woods
Such a fun movie that I expected to be quite bad. Turns out, I really enjoyed it. 

Halloween
You can't do Halloween without Halloween! Old or New, they're both a horrifyingly awesome scare. 

American Horrow story
Season 8 is proving to be one of the best. But if you want to binge watch a whole season at a time, I'd recommend going back to Season 1:Murder House or Season 2: Asylum. 

Insidious
Why not binge watch all 4 Insidious movies. I reckon it'll be enough to trap yourself in the astral dimension! 

Family Guy Season 9, Episode 1:And Then There Were Fewer
Murders occur, nice little twist, funny things happen, stewie is awesome, enough said. 

The Haunting of Hill House
How awesome is this series on Netflix?! Start watching it now, piece the puzzle together and be utterly satisfied.

Writing a comic book - sketching and panels.

I decided that I want to create a comic book a few years ago. This is my 4th blog about the process I am undergoing. I had no previous experience of writing for a comic book so this is also part of my learning process. Last time I talked about how I undertook writing the script. So, when it comes to sketching my comic, I thought that I could cram loads of panels into each page. After all, I am paying for each page so I honestly thought that I could save some cash by having more on each page.  I looked at various panel layouts on Reddit and Google images for inspiration, but it wasn't until I began sketching that I realised I couldn't just cram in 16 panels on one page and hope it would be fine. It's not fine. It's crap. It looks rubbish and I'd need to significantly reduce my font size for dialogue, you'd need a magnifying glass to read it and that would just be ultra crap. Experience my first comicon as an exhibiting creator

I attended my first comicon, exhibiting my work as the creator of The Brink comic book ( www.brinkcasefiles.com ) at the MCM Comic convention in Birmingham. Firstly, it's pretty scary going to one of these things to display your work. Alot of questions run through your head - what's going to happen? Will people like my work? What the hell am I doing? To begin with it was surprisingly lonely but the atmosphere was comfortable so getting to know other creators around me was not difficult. Everybody was so friendly anyway. The first thing I did was set up. I took the following items with me and was quite happy with my display: Comics (obviously). I had already placed most of them in plastic wallets with backing board. Prints. Wire cube storage - I attached some comics and prints. Lots of others use these too. Table cloth - this is a requirement at comicons. I bought a cheap black table cloth. Roller banner. Do you need an ISBN for a comic book?

Hi guys, I'm going to keep this simple because it can get confusing. Since I'm selling my comic book series The Brink online and in print, I need to know what my obligations are because I had heard you need an ISBN. I didn't really know what one was to be honest. I'd seen them on the back of books and assumed that comics used them too because all of the comics I've bought have a bar code. So, after a lot of research I finally have my answer, but it's not as straight forward as you may think. It really depends on what you want to do with your comic. The first question you need to answer is, what type of comic book do you have? Do you mean each issue of a comic book series? Or maybe you're talking about a collection of comic books - maybe you've compiled six issues into one volume, or maybe you actually have a graphic novel. Why do I need an ISBN?
